A repeat performance saw the comp finals on Saturday night and another perfect day at Crantock on Sunday. Waving off friends and family it was on to the expanse of Godrevy to meet Tim for a beach BBQ and to watch the sun melt into a silver sea. The new inflatable SUP got it’s first outing with a circumnavigation of St Michael’s Mount through water ‘boiling’ with sea bass. Then to Trevedra Farm at Sennen for a seaview pitch and a walk down to Gwynver Beach and some tidy waves. Monday saw good morning and evening sessions; Tuesday involved a cycle to Lamorna Cove via ancient stone circles for icecream and then more steep hills to Mousehole. Tried fishing from the SUP but none for supper. The waves were a bit mushy but passable on Wednesday. Cycled to Sennen to watch England win over a pint and chips. BBQ on the beach to accompany the sunset. On Thursday a cycle north was rewarded by fab views between Porth Nanven and Cape Cornwall. Chatted to volunteers manning the National Coastwatch lookout and soaked up the vistas, wild aloe vera, wild thyme, assorted insects and ruins before a clotted cream icecream to power the return trip and more evening surf mayhem. On Friday a slow crawl up the A39 led to Widemouth Bay and more watery action before the final push up to The Ho and the hottest weekend of the year so far. Surfing in just board shorts was brilliant. A fab week (video) with more video at our 'sister' blog if you can stand any more.
