Destination Nepal

In a pleasant seasonal hail storm, Luke joined the tour bus for a plane heading East to Kathmandu where the temperature is a chilly 30 degrees. Having packed clean pants for each week and with a jumbo bag of popcorn, he was totally ready for his Excellent Adventure.

Welsh Bicknor

Splendid Sunday sunshine accompanied us from Goodrich to Welsh Bicknor and along the Wye. We saw salmon patrolling the river and falcons overhead. In four hours we passed just seven other walkers and one group of canoeists. Following a ridge back we got views either side. Sleepy eyes in the warm car threatened on the way home, after so much fresh air. [For higher resolution movie click here.]

Far From The Madding Crowd

To celebrate Cheltenham Gold Cup day we headed away from the punters and enjoyed a mild workout on or around the lake respectively. While 'Imperial Commander' was romping home at Prestbury Park, we were eating healthy bacon baps (with salad) at Keynes Park.

PSUK X Country Championship

A fine dry course provided for a fast PSUK National Cross country Championships in S Wales. Our men's team retained the minor counties third place from 2009 while the ladies triumphed big-time, taking first place for the whole UK. Jerry wandered in mid field, 111th out of 268 men's race finishers (18th in the veteran 45-49 old codgers class).

Top of the Wold

Skylarks accompanied us on a walk from Cold Aston to Notgrove (with connections to Dick Whittington). Soon we were mingling with the Cotswold Hunt followers and eating their cake as they waited optimistically for the hounds to run their way from a distant hillside. We carried on to Turkdean, taking in rolling views and snowdrops on the way back. Later we scrubbed up for the ASET Ball at Hatherley Manor where we enjoyed a champagne reception, live band and good company; all for a good cause.

Spring has sprung

A sunny Sunday gave us the opportunity to work off some of the calories we'd consumed on a weekend of friends for meals: Dave, Liz, Martin, Judith, Nigel, Sarah, David, Kath, Dave and Paula all risked our cooking and survived. The trenches are dug and compost added ready for the beans and potatoes. We even mowed the lawn.
