Gloucester 22 Wasps 20

(The atmosphere was still building at this point)
With Nige hob-nobbing up in an executive box on his birthday, we squatted in his usual seats at Kingsholm for the fixture with the Londoners. Although determined to clutch defeat from the jaws of victory, the Cherry and Whites popped over a long range kick in the dying minutes to claim the points in a to-and-fro mid table encounter. A nice afternoon was had by all.

The Brecons

Jerry and Geoff took a mid-week opportunity to revisit The Brecon Beacons National Park with a low level warm-up walk to Tallybont Reservoir before an assault on the cloud shrouded Pen Y Fan at 886m.
The site at Pencelli, close to the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal and the river Usk, provided an excellent base to amble the towpath, past longboats, locks and aqueducts, with the high beacons as the backdrop. An area definately worth another trip. Click for images.

The Severn & The Sculptures

With a September high bore passing through mid-morning, the banks of the Severn were more crowded than usual. We started with an inspection of Westbury Gardens and then moved on to Newnham where the river was still flowing upstream at midday. We divided lunch between the riverside and later the docks before enjoying the sculpture exhibition at the Cathedral. Later we tried out the cakes we had bought over tea in the garden.

Paddling With A Porpoise

The porpoise didn't actually get to feature in our film, but was there (honest). Strong offshore winds made for a 'testing' first test-drive of the new Go-Pro wrist camera at The Ho. After filming a lot of sky, we eventually got a few seconds of video with people in, which was encouraging. Instructional film if you want to learn how to SUP.

Compulsive Cleaning Disorder

Although he is still displaying the symptoms, Luke is now well on the way to conquering his 'fear of dirt'. This episode was just a one-off!
