With Exmoor blanketed in snow, the drive to Watersmeet was memorable. We walked down beside the river to Lynmouth for a roast dinner and seaviews before the climb back. After enjoying the wildlife, fresh air and the tinkling water, we found ourselves in need of an afternoon nap.
We made a weekend out of Jo's birthday party, taking the long way to Ross on Wye via the Three Choirs Vineyard and a nearby carvery in Newent. Generous portions of roast beef and the trimmings left us needing a lie down when we reached the Royal Hotel. After enjoying river views and a wander, we made our dance moves 'till late. In the morning we took in the views from Symonds Yat and then worked off a few calories on the Forest trail.
